Who's your haberdasher?
I admit that working for KA has been an odd job. I'm constantly doing peculiar little things to make it more interesting or run more smoothly. But lately there has been an interesting new twist on the job desription: Hatmaker!!!
Ok, it started out simply enough. Ryan wanted to be a poet type character, if only we could find him one of those floppy hats.
"Oh! That's actually a very simple pattern. If you guys buy some material, I can whip you up one.", said the foolish Gatekeeper who didn't know what he was getting himself into.
Next, a Tarboosh!
"What's a tarboosh?", he asked knowingly.
"It's like a fez, only a little shorter and slightly rounded on top. Except this one should be black."
Now I've finished those two and have seven new orders. Jeesh. The funny part is people are asking where thay can get those neat hats.
"Do they sell them in the gift shop?"
"Umm, no."

Hat making business!
BRILLIANT!!
Actually that's how it starts.
I have a client, you may have heard of. Hidden Valley Ranch
Well, actually they used to be a customer, I'm trying to get their business back. Anywho, The founder had a dude ranch in California and served his dressing to friends and customers who loved it. He did this for 10 years before realizing he had been sitting on a gold mine and finally marketing it.
Well Chad,
You are a very talented man.. I am impressed with your haberdashery..My great grandpa and his brother were milliners and my mom modeled their wares when she was young... I love hats so much..I have a whole bunch.. I never get to wear them tho, cause here in the east if you wear a hat other than a ball cap. you are a moron.. go figure..no one has any taste anymore...
Certainly beats digging ditches or sitting through five straight hours of 80s music every night.....
It's not so far fetched, I reccomend checking ebay to see if there is anyone else doing it, I have been putting stuff on there for years and ooak (one of a kind) items usually sell very well. Do your research, and see who else is selling what, I mean it's worth a try, right? If you need any info, drop me a line and I can answer any questions.
